- The Federación Española de Empresas de Tecnología Sanitaria, Fenin, in collaboration with ICEX Spain Export and Investment, is once again organizing the participation of the national industry in this gathering.
- The presence of Spanish companies participating under the Fenin umbrella has increased by 6% compared to 2024; these companies will showcase their innovative technology and medical devices to stakeholders from 165 countries.
- Alongside the companies, public bodies and health clusters from Castile and León, Navarre, Catalonia, the Canary Islands, and Extremadura will be present in the pavilion organized by the Federation.
The Spanish Healthcare Technology Sector continues to expand its prominence at MEDICA, the international benchmark trade fair for the sector held annually in Düsseldorf (Germany). In this 56th edition, taking place from November 17 to 20, the national industry is increasing its presence thanks to the participation of 74 companies, representing a 6% increase compared to 2024.
Supported by the Federation, which once again counts on the collaboration of ICEX Spain Export and Investment for this initiative, the participating companies will showcase their innovative, high-quality technology and medical devices to international stakeholders. The pavilion organized by Fenin will also host public foreign promotion bodies and health clusters from autonomous communities such as the Institute for Business Competitiveness of Castile and León (ICECYL); the International Plan of Navarre; the Agency for Business Competitiveness (ACCIÓ) of Catalonia; Extremadura Avante, and Canarias Health (the latter two making their debut at this fair). All of them are attending MEDICA with their own delegations of companies.
MEDICA 2025 expects to exceed the 5,800 exhibitors and 80,000 attendees from 165 countries recorded in the previous edition. “Within Fenin’s International Promotion Activities Plan and the projection of Healthcare Technology from Spain, the national industry’s brand abroad, we want to continue driving, increasing, and diversifying the exports of national Healthcare Technology manufacturing companies. In this objective, with the Federation’s support, our industry is once again meeting expectations with a high presence at MEDICA,” indicates Borja Polo, Director of the International Department at Fenin. It is worth noting that the export turnover of the national industry reached 4.955 million euros in 2024.
This is the 27th occasion on which Fenin has organized the participation of Spanish companies in MEDICA. The 74 Spanish companies will exhibit their product catalogs across the various pavilions and sectors into which the fair is structured: laboratory and diagnostics, physiotherapy and orthopedics, supplies and consumables, imaging and diagnostics, medical equipment and devices, hospital equipment, IT solutions and systems, etc.
Foreign promotion
With this high presence of national companies at MEDICA 2025, added to other recent actions promoted by the “Healthcare Technology From Spain” brand, the sector continues to gain greater international relevance. “Annually, we promote more than 150 company participations across nearly fifteen international promotion actions,” assesses Borja Polo.
In the case of MEDICA, Fenin’s collaboration is part of the Sectoral Plan that both entities have in place. “The joint work with ICEX is fundamental in boosting technological innovation, strengthening our industrial fabric, and ensuring the strong international positioning of our Sector,” points out the Director of Fenin’s International Department.
