On October 1st, through the Spanish Platform for Innovation in Health Technology promoted by Fenin, we held the webinar “Sustainability in the Design of Medical Devices”, an event dedicated to reflecting on how to integrate sustainability criteria from the earliest stages of product development—one of the major challenges currently facing the sector.
The webinar featured the participation of G‑Advisory and GLUCUBE, who provided a practical perspective on how to align quality, safety, and performance with reduced environmental impact. Through the presentation of the regulatory framework on ecodesign, real‑world case studies, and insights from an innovative startup’s experience, the session explored concrete, applicable strategies for the design of health technologies.
The program also included a dedicated space for knowledge exchange, allowing participants to identify common barriers, share best practices, and disseminate key legal requirements needed to advance toward more sustainable product design.
Key highlights of the webinar:
- Raising awareness within the sector about the importance of integrating sustainability from the outset of technological development.
- Dissemination of best practices, regulatory requirements, and practical solutions related to ecodesign.
- Identification of challenges and potential pathways for improving sustainable design in medical devices.
This webinar established itself as an important forum for promoting a culture of responsible and sustainable innovation within the health technology sector.
