Connect Health Unveiled: MWC27’s New Health and Technology Programme

On Friday, 9 October, Barcelona City Hall hosted the official presentation of Connect Health, the health and technology programme of MWC Barcelona and 4YFN. The initiative is led by GSMA and Mobile World Capital Barcelona, in collaboration with Barcelona City Council, the Government of Catalonia and the Spanish Ministry for Digital Transformation and Public Administration, with the support of key industry organisations, including Asociación Salud Digital (ASD), AseBio, Biocat, Farmaindustria, Fenin and Fundación TIC Salut Social.

.

The new programme, Connect Health, will bridge the gap between clinical and healthcare needs and the technologies transforming the sector, such as artificial intelligence, connectivity and data. As part of MWC27 and 4YFN, it will bring together leading stakeholders from the healthcare, technology and industrial ecosystems to share knowledge, showcase solutions and real-world use cases, and create new opportunities for collaboration.

.

This new initiative broadens the scope of MWC27 and 4YFN to include a sector that plays a vital role in people’s well-being, while strengthening Barcelona’s position as an international hub for healthcare, technology and innovation.

.

The event was attended by Jaume Collboni, Mayor of Barcelona; Jordi Valls, Fourth Deputy Mayor of Barcelona and Head of Economy, Housing, Finance and Tourism; Alicia Romero, Minister of Economy and Finance of the Government of Catalonia; Albert Tort, Secretary for Telecommunications and Digital Transformation of the Government of Catalonia; Laia Ripoll, Head of Business Spain at GSMA; Laia Corbella, CEO of Mobile World Capital Barcelona; Jaume Raventós, President of Asociación Salud Digital (ASD); Cristina Nadal, President of AseBio; Robert Fabregat, Director General of Biocat; Fina Lladós, President of Farmaindustria; Arantxa Martí, Associate Director and Head of Farmaindustria’s Catalonia Office; Andreas Förster, President of Fenin Catalonia; Pilar Navarro, Director of Innovation at Fenin; and Jordi Piera, Head of Research at Fundación TIC Salut Social.
